Calling all "Microsofties"

I'm trying to find a viable search component to use with a website we are pitching to a pretty good size client in the financial services sector.  Can any of the Microsofties out in the blog world point me to any information about how we might be able to leverage Sharepoint Services to provide search functionality similar to what ColdFusion MX provides via it's bundled Verity search “component”?  Please help

I don't knwo about sharepoint, but i can certainly recommend Isys. I've done a lot of work with their products, and it works really well.
You can call their sdk from any com, win32, or .net language, and call it from asp too.

I don't know where you are, but here in australia it's worked really well (most of their stuff was written in australia, so i'd have direct access to the developers when sorting out bugs (normally in my own code :)

<a target="_new" href="http://www.isys.com.au">http://www.isys.com.au</a> - and no, i'm not trying to spam, just a good suggestion.

To be honest I wouldn't go with Sharepoint if your only need is search - very expensive just for that! One I would recommend though is MondoSearch (<a target="_new" href="http://www.mondosoft.com/">http://www.mondosoft.com/</a>) , very cost effective and really powerful. FOr free you can try the Lucene.NET project.
