.NET please come back to me...

I'm sure all of you loyal followers of my blog have noticed I've been a little quite lately.  I've been heads down working on the re-design of an e-Commerce site that is using the MarketLive eCommerce engine, which is J2EE based, which in case you didn't know means its not .NET based, which in case you didn't know means I've been stuck working in Java/JSP, which in case you didn't know makes me an un-happy camper, which in case you didn't know means I don't blog as much.

I see the light at the end of the tunnel, so hopefully I'll return to normal some time soon....

You mean the plethora of open source Java tools and 101 reasons why Java is better than .Net, didn't make you happy? Would make for a good blog entry methinks.

Yeah, our company is heavily into Java and one of the more senior guys suggested I learn it for the "betterment" of my career. Thanks, but no thanks!

It's unfortunate that you (and many the readers of your journal, apparently) are so closed minded. I guess if it's not your particular magic hammer, it sucks. Still, you're a bright man and it's disappointing to see you reject something out of hand because you're not familiar with it. Ah well.

I'm not that closed minded actually. I'm planning on a follow up post which isn't as biased as this one, and which offers a little more insight into my recent Java project.
